Minutes
| | Ken Podgorsek made a motion to accept the minutes from the May UNC meeting, David Dudek seconded the motion, the motion was approved by voice vote.

New Business
| | Motion to appoint Beth Shafran-Mukai to UNC board
|
| | Ken Podgorsek made a motion that Beth Shafran-Mukai be appointed to an "At Large" position ending November 2003. Candy Russell seconded the motion. The motion was approved on voice vote.

| | Motion to adopt new policies for UNC email
|
| | Tom Clifton made a motion that the UNC adopt a set of policies on the UNC email list that are similar to the CCA email list policies. Ken Podgorsek seconded the motion. The motion was approved on voice vote.

| | Motion to change UNC board make up

| | Ken Podgorsek made a motion that the UNC remove the two seats reserved for the Market Alamaden Neighborhood Association and convert the two "Residential Tenant" seats to "At Large" seats. Candy Russell seconded the motion. The motion was approved on voice vote

| | High Speed Rail in California
|
| | Patrick Moore (Sierra Club) gave a presentation on the proposed high-speed rail system that would run 220 mph trains between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The Sierra Club views this system as an attractive alternative to commercial jet flights. Building the high speed rail system could reduce the need for expansion at San Francisco Airport. The California High Speed Rail Authority will be meeting in the San Jose City Council Chambers on July 17, 2002 at 9:00 AM.

| | Neighborhood Housing Services

| | Jaime Angulo reported on Neighborhood Housing Services, a non-profit organization funded by the Redevelopment Agency and the City of San Jose. The organization provides education for home buyers and home maintenance classes.

Announcements
| | 13th Street NAC Meeting on San Jose Medical Center - Don Gagliardi
|
| | County Supervisor Blanca Alvarado will be at the next 13th Street NAC meeting to discuss the San Jose Medical Center site. The meeting will be on Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 6:30 PM at the Watson Community Center (1082 E Jackson St). The 13th St NAC would like a strong show of support for keeping emergency medical services at the site.

| | South University Neighborhood meeting on Traffic Calming
|
| | Traffic Calming efforts at 6th and Reed Streets will be discussed at the next SUN meeting, on Tuesday July 16, 2002 at Coliseo Pizza (William and 10th Streets).
